Freeman L. Walker passed away on January 24, 2024 in Lakeland, Florida at the age of 100. Freeman was born on November 24, 1923 to Edward Lee Walker and Mary Josephine (Foster) Walker in Sawyer, Kansas. He spent most of his life as a resident of Miami, FL, where he met and married Latrelle Stewart on January 16, 1944. During WWII he served as a co-pilot in the 8th Air Force, flying B17 bombers in Europe. After the war he became an architect and had a long career with Burns & McDonnell in Miami. In 2001, he and Latrelle moved to Lakeland, FL to enjoy retirement and visits from their numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Freeman was also actively involved in Restoration Fellowship Church, where he had many dear friends.

Freeman and Latrelle lived a life together that was abundant in both faith and family. Those two things were Freeman's greatest passions in life and his continuous pursuit to better understand the truth found in the scriptures of the Bible was a model to his family.

Freeman is survived by his two daughters, Chere Walker Rickman and Wenette Walker Cassel (Ken), six grandchildren Susan Martin (Peter), Valerie Lacy (Keith), Melanie Gicker (Kent), Tina Hinton (Cayce), Amy Reed (Jeff), and John Cassel (Amanda), twenty-two great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel in Lakeland, Florida on February 10, 2024. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM, with funeral services to follow at 11:00AM. A graveside service with military honors will take place at Flagler Memorial Park in Miami, Florida on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM.
