Obituary

Frances Louise Clary Wilson, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 25, 2026—her 85th birthday. She was born on September 25, 1941, in Lakeland and lived her entire life in the community she loved.

Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Bob” Wilson; her mother, Edna Stevens Clary; her father, John Clary; her sister, Carol Hutchison; and her brother, J.B. Clary.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammy Corn (Terry); her sons, Mark Wilson (Lori) and Todd Wilson (Amy); and her grandchildren, Adam Corn, Matthew Corn, Ashley Barnes, Terry Corn Jr., J.P. Wilson, Reagan Wilson, and Dakotah Wilson.

She was blessed with many great-grandchildren: Brennan Corn, Brady Corn, and Bryce Corn; Brooklyn Corn, Rome Corn, and Waylon Locke; Ryan Barnes, Pembroke Barnes, and Wilder Barnes; and Zylah Harding. Frances treasured being present for the births of nearly all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took great pride in watching them grow.

To know Frances was to know someone generous, genuine, caring, and joyful. Her sweet personality and wonderful laugh could brighten a room, and her natural warmth made people feel comfortable and welcome. Kindness was simply part of who she was.

Frances loved being present for the important moments in her family’s lives. She rarely missed a ball game, school event, awards ceremony, dance recital, or other milestone. She cheered them on, encouraged them, and celebrated their accomplishments, big and small.

Frances was a lifelong resident of Lakeland and graduated from Lakeland Senior High School in 1959. In 1960, she married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Wilson. They shared 60 years of marriage, began their family in 1962, and enjoyed traveling and making memories together.

Music was one of Frances’s greatest joys. She was a beautiful and gifted pianist who played every day and especially loved sharing her gift through her church.

Her faith was central to her life. Frances was a lifelong Nazarene. As a young girl, her grandfather would pick her and her sister up and take them to First Church of the Nazarene. Throughout her life, she attended South Florida Heights Church of the Nazarene, Lakeside Nazarene, and Highland Park Church of the Nazarene.

Frances faithfully served her church community in many ways. At Highland Park Church of the Nazarene, she volunteered her time and helped count the church offerings. Her faith and service were important parts of her life.

Frances’s life was defined by her faith, music, joyful spirit, and the meaningful relationships she built with those around her. She leaves behind cherished memories in the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the Main Sanctuary at Church For The ONE, formerly Highland Park Church, located at 4777 Lakeland Highlands Rd., Lakeland, FL 33813.The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the Main Sanctuary. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Frances’s beautiful life and enduring faith.
