Perez Baez
May 29, 1933 – November 15, 2025
Dr. Felix Eliecer Pérez Báez, 92, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, in Winter Haven, Florida. Born on May 29, 1933, in San José de los Ramos, Colon, Matanzas, Cuba, he was the beloved son of Antonio Pérez and Antonia Báez.
Dr. Pérez devoted his entire life to caring for others. Becoming an OB-GYN wasn't just a profession for him - it was his calling! During his 10 years of practice in Cuba, he welcomed thousands of babies into the world. After immigrating to the United States in 1971, he continued his healing work as a General Practitioner in Bowling Green, Florida. In 1985, he transitioned from private practice to the Florida Department of Health in Arcadia, where he served his community with unwavering dedication until his retirement in 2006. A faithful member of the El Buen Samaritano Church in Winter Haven, Dr. Pérez lived his faith through compassion, service, and love for his community.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Olema Dorelia Pérez Rodriguez, who passed in 1993.
Dr. Pérez is survived by his children, Felix E. Perez Jr. and Lizzette Herron (Perez); two grandsons, Eli C. Ross and wife Megan Medaugh, and Jared L. Herron and wife Kayla (Crosby); and one great-grandson, Luke E. Phay. He also leaves behind his brother Isidro Pérez Báez, who lives in Cuba and is the youngest of 14 children.
He will be remembered for his unfaltering commitment to his family, his unshakeable dedication to his patients, and his warm, humble, and generous spirit to all!! His legacy lives on in the countless lives he healed, supported, and inspired.
No public service will be held, per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to contribute to The March of Dimes (https://www.marchofdimes.org/donate-now) or The Susan G. Komen Foundations (https://www.komen.org/), in his honor, that would be appreciated!
