May 15, 1937 – October 25, 2023
Roberson, Emily Jean Lowe, 86 of Lakeland passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2023 at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. Ms. Roberson was born in Greensboro, NC to the late Samuel and Lois Lowe. She relocated to Lakeland seventeen years ago from Key West, FL.
Ms. Roberson was known for her love of sewing, gardening and collectables. Many locals have antiques adorning their homes which she procured and sold at one of her local antique shop booths. She will forever be known as the "Fudge Lady" having made and sold fudge at the fair in Key West while residing there and later making it in Lakeland and shipping it down for fundraising events. Most specially, Ms. Roberson will be remembered as the Avon Lady, which she represented for many years, achieving membership in the President's Club for her outstanding accomplishments.
In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by her husband Walter "Jake" Roberson; sons, Tommy Brown, Douglas Brown, Ricky Brown; daughter, Sandra Brown; and brother, Samuel Welch Lowe, Jr.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Sheree Veliz (Tim); step-daughter, Sheila Roberson-Gordon (Michael); brother, James Franklin "Pete" Lowe (Darlene); sister, Lois Marie Lowe-Marshburn (Charles); sister-in-law, Bonnie Lowe; grandchildren, Todd Taylor, Brenden Greene, Jacob Veliz, Victoria Veliz, Michele Golden, Monica Herrera-Marquez; great-grandchildren, Kaydance Greene, Parker Engle, Jacklyn Taylor, Andreas Theodorakis, Gabriel Marti, Kaden Marquez ,Lily Golden; many extended family members, and friends.
A funeral service to honor the life and legacy of Emily will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Gentry Morrison Funeral Home, Southside Chapel. A comital service will be held at a later date at the Southern Keys Cemetery, Key West, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in memory and honor of Ms. Emily to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
