Elvie Green, born March 21, 1942, in Venice, Illinois, passed away surrounded by the love of her family.

She was the beloved daughter of Mattie and Martha Cardin. She leaves behind her daughter, Bonnie, and son-in-law, Alan; her grandchildren, Johnny (grand daughter in law Sonya), Hank, Brian, Andrew, and Donna; and her great-grandchildren, PJ, Jordan, Jessie, Kayden, Easton, Ellie, and Ryleigh, Mayleigh, and Kayleigh. She is also survived by her siblings, Pat, Gill, and Virgil. Proceeded in death by her parents, siblings Waneda, violet, Willard, Tanner, Jonny, and Frank.

To those who knew her, Elvie was so much more than a name, a mother, or a grandmother. She was someone whose love became a part of who we are. Her absence has left a pain that words cannot explain and a silence that will never feel quite the same.

We will miss her in the smallest moments, in the moments when we reach for the phone, wish we could hear her voice, or simply wish she were still here. But we will carry her with us in every memory, every story, and every piece of love she left behind.

We will never be ready to lose you, and we never can be. The lord has called you home to rest and so you must go. Although you may be gone from our sight, you will never be gone from our hearts. We will love you, miss you, and carry you with us for the rest of our lives.
