Obituary

Edwin "Eddie" Fletcher, 76, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026. Bom on December 25, 1949, in Cuthbert, Georgia, Eddie was the cherished son of the late Claude and Grace Fletcher. 

Eddie graduated from Lyman Ward Military Academy in Camp Hill, Alabama, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by dedication and hard work. Following his education, he worked alongside his father on Fletcher Farms before establishing Fletcher Trucking. Eddie found great joy in his career as a truck driver, relishing the opportunity to meet new people and explore the open road. A proud veteran, Eddie served his country with honor as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army. Enlisting in 1971, he bravely served during the Vietnam War. His service exemplified his commitment to duty and his unwavering sense of responsibility.

 Eddie was a devoted family man who deeply loved his wife Brenda Carol and their blended family. He is survived by Brenda ; his children Edwin Fletcher Jr. (Pam) of Dawson, Georgia; Angel Mullis (Eric) of Sumner, Georgia; Adam Fletcher (Pam) of Cumming, Georgia; Michelle Cross (Scott) of Lakeland, Florida; and Jeremiah Hartley (Cristy) of Lakeland, Florida. Eddie was also a proud grandfather to William, EJ, Matthew, Dave, Ellissa (Kenny), Tiffany, Emily, Savannah and 6 great grandchildren. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters Nell Marshall of Leesburg, Georgia, and Jane Eubanks (Bill) of Dawson, Georgia. 

Eddie’s life was enriched by his passions for hunting and fishing activities that brought him peace and connection to nature. He also enjoyed riding bikes with Brenda , sharing countless adventures together that strengthened their bond. A man of faith, Eddie was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Plant City, Florida. 

Those who knew Eddie remember him as a wonderful husband and a man who loved his family deeply. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched with his kindness and dedication. May Eddie’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

 A Graveside Service will be held on July 21, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Florida National Cemetery Bushnell Florida 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
