E. Lee Horney, 95, passed away June 27, 2023. Mr. Horney was born in Yates Center, Kansas on November 26, 1927. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of numerous civic groups, including the VFW, American Legion, Shriners, Mason Lodge, Scottish Rite and the Odd Fellows. He also was a former member of the Lakewood Methodist Church. Mr. Horney was preceded in death by his first wife, Lorraine Horney, and his second wife, Andrea Horney. He is survived by his sons, Bill L. Horney, Lee E. Horney and David G. Horney; partner, Lela Strickland; sisters, Sarah Jane Robinson and Leota May Robinson; grandson, Jacob; and numerous step children and step grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, July 3, 2023 from 9-10 am at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, followed by funeral services at 10 am. Interment with military honors will be Monday afternoon at 1 pm at Florida National Cemetery.
