Doris Esther Yeck, 87, passed away July 28, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Yeck and her son, Doug Yeck. Born September 11, 1930, in Peoria, IL, she was the daughter of the late August and Lillian Hamann. Doris was employed at Fike Sale Associates Insurance for many years. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Sue (Paul) Schwan, and Sally (Larry) McMachen; 6 grandchildren, Tim, Erin, Jayme, Ryan, Christopher and Stephen; 8 great-grandchildren, a niece, many nephews, other relatives, friends, and her beloved dachshund, "Lulu". The family would like to thank her nephew, Don (Sue) Hammon, for their love and support through the years. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 5-7 pm at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home Southside Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lakeland. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School. Gentry-Morrison Southside is assisting the family.
