Doris Elizabeth Hill Benton passed away on December 27, 2023, at the age of 82 in Lakeland, Florida. She was born on August 2, 1941, in Conway, South Carolina. She met her husband William C Benton, and they spent 51 years building a family and life together. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She even fostered children and nursed, touching the lives of many. She moved from Leland, North Carolina to live in Lakeland, Florida on and off most of her life but considered her home here.

Doris is survived by her loving children: son Edison Arnett Jr., and significant other Mary Elizabeth Merlin of Lakeland, Florida; daughter Teresa Ann Allen of Lakeland, Florida; daughter Angie Sundstrom; son/grandson Cameron Jacob Allen wife Nicole Summerall Allen of Lakeland, Florida; grandson Jared Arnett of Boise, Idaho; and granddaughter Jarica Brown of Tampa, Florida.
