Diana Marie George, 89, passed away on Friday April 8, 2022. She was born on February 9, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to parents Nicholas and Concetta Lope. Diana joined the Marine Corps in 1952, where she met her future husband, William E. George. After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, Diana and William wed on May 8, 1954 and had 5 children. Diana and William moved to the Lakeland area in 2004 from Altoona, PA. Diana's Sicilian roots showed, with her signature red hair and firecracker personality. She was outspoken and quick with her words. She loved to cook and enjoyed crossword puzzles later in life. She was an avid member of Armed Forces Mothers, with four of her five children having served, along with herself and her husband. She was of Catholic Faith. Diana is preceded in death by her husband William, sister Rita Entirio, and grandson Evan George. She is survived by her children Ron (Bethany) George, Roger George, Timmy George, Michael George, and Denise (Dave) Miller; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 14, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Gentry-Morrison Funeral Home, Serenity Gardens Chapel 3350 Mall Hill Dr.
