Dawn M. Griffin

Polk State College Lakeland - Dawn M. Griffin, 52, passed away on Aug. 19, 2016, after a 14 year battle with cancer. Ms. Griffin has lived in the Lakeland area since the 80's, was a graduate of Warner University, and most recently worked for Polk State College. Dawn was a beautiful & warm-hearted Daughter, Sister, Mother & Grandmother. She will always be remembered for her bright smile, compassion for others, ability to keep us guessing, and her will for life despite the challenges she faced. Ms. Griffin is survived by Daughters, Ashley Dorminy, Victoria Abnathy & Merica Abnathy; Sisters, Karrie Stinson & Mindy Liddy; Step-Sisters, DeeDee Wade & Linda Griffin; Granddaughter, Cameron Dorminy; Mother, Bonnie Griffin Turbeville and Step-Father, Steve Turbeville. Dawn was preceded in death by her Father, John R. Bobby Griffin. Rest peacefully now our "Queenie"....you are forever loved. Visitation will be Sat. Aug. 27th from 10-11 am at Gentry Morrison Southside Chapel, 1727 Bartow Rd. Lakeland. Services to follow at 11 am at the funeral home.
