David Joe Alberson's Obituary
Navy Chief Petty Officer, “DJ” David Joe Alberson, 70, of Lakeland, entered into eternal rest on November 28, 2018 after a 4 year battle with cancer. He was born in Muncie, Indiana on January 8, 1948 to the late Bill and Rose Alberson. He was a 1966 graduate from Muncie Central High School. He was an Air Traffic Controller serving in the US Navy for 21 years and retired after 43 years of total service. David’s greatest joys in life were his family and short track racing with his brother throughout Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Peggy Knight Alberson; daughter Vanessa (Marc) Smith, of Raleigh, NC; son Jason Alberson (Richard) of Lakeland; brother Frank (Terry) Alberson of Lakeland; stepchildren Chnita (Bradley) Amenell of Burlington, IA, and Darryl (Lisa) Yeargin of Ft. Madison, IA. Six Grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 nephews and 1 niece also survive.
David was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Per David’s wishes, there are to be no services.
