Anything fast – fast cars, fast bikes, fast boats – that was what started our friendship over 30 years ago. Going to the River, doing truck burnouts in front of your house, destroying hotel rooms, with John also, so stupid the stuff we did. All the car and boat stunts I am surprised we made it this far.
As we grew older I remember how smart I thought you were and we always talked about the world and wanted to grow a business, so we didn’t need to depend on someone else. We tried a few different things like selling Primerica life insurance door to door, remember getting the doors closed on us and that voice instructor giving us a lesson. Remember Katana Computers, we thought we were the next Dell or Gateway computers. When you decided to move to Forida and buy a boating club to run I was always amazed how you put it all on the line and just up and moved. I was living vicariously through you in a way as I would never do that, lol.
Moving to Florida turned out to be the best thing you ever did as that is where you met Jessica and did something else I never thought you would do – get married and have kids, good thing that reversal worked, haha. One thing I realized is what a great father you were, the dedication to a family that I think both of us never would have dreamed you would do, amazing!
I’m going to miss talking to you my friend, life always seemed so busy and I wish we could have spoke more about how the families are doing, getting advice, poking fun at the “stupid people” in California, haha. You’re still the smartest person I know – rest in peace Corey.

Corey cherished his wife Jessica and took great pride in his boys, Austin and James - whether he was out fishing with them, sharing stories, or simply enjoying time together. Those moments meant everything to him.
He was deeply patriotic and carried a strong love for his country, a reflection of his character and values. Corey also found joy in the outdoors, from quiet days on the water to the thrill of shooting clays- always appreciating the simple, meaningful experiences in life.
Above all, Corey was a fighter. He faced cancer with strength, courage, and determination, never giving up. His resilience and spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He will be deeply missed, but remembered always for his love, his strength, and the life he built with those closest to him.

I had the privilege of meeting Corey at birthday parties and school events for my grandson, where he would intentionally greet this old and fluffy Nana with sincere kindness and concern. Tucked away in the shadows was this consistently!!! chivalrous man who was gentle and humble in heart. What a legacy 🙏🏻
Corey LOVED a good steak. He was an excellent cook, a crackerjack shot and a jack of all trades. No one could mistake that the true loves of his life were his wife and boys. He was a man of faith and character and will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to call him friend. We mourn his loss on this earth but rejoice that he is whole and at peace with his Heavenly Father.
