Obituary

Bonnie June Harper, 89, of Frostproof, Florida, passed away peacefully of natural causes on July 4, 2026.

Born in Tifton, Georgia, Bonnie was raised in Dundee, Florida. She shared 60 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Eugene Harper, until his passing in 2021.

As the wife of a United States Air Force serviceman, Bonnie proudly supported her family throughout Eugene's 20-year military career. Following his retirement, they returned to Haines City, Florida, where Bonnie built a career as a hairdresser for more than 20 years. She later found great joy working as a school bus aide, caring for children with disabilities. Never one to stop learning, Bonnie enrolled in Culinary Arts school at the age of 70, embracing a new adventure with the same enthusiasm that characterized her life.

Bonnie had a special talent for making every gathering feel warm and welcoming. She loved decorating beautiful tables for family celebrations and was well known for her delicious Rice Krispy treats. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family and creating lasting memories with those she loved.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Don (Susan) Harper and Connie (Ken) Johnson; her five grandchildren, Gina (David) Lawson, Kayla (Justin) Short, Casey Harper, Patrick (Anji) Johnson, and Cady(Dave) Hadsell; her nine great-grandchildren, Carson, Kinley, Oakley, Hudson, Harper, Rodney, Riley, Holden, and Star; and her two sisters, Patsy (Gene) Smart and Kathy Ramm.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Harper.

Bonnie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She will be remembered for her kindness, generous heart, unwavering love for her family, and the joy she brought to everyone around her.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell, Florida.
