Barton “Buddy” Kessler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, in Lakeland, Florida. He was 83 years old.

Born on June 6, 1943, in the Bronx, New York, Buddy built a life centered on hard work, loyalty, and providing for the people he loved. He believed in showing up, doing the job right, and taking pride in caring for his family. Those who knew him will remember his practical sense of humor, steady presence, and his love for the New York Yankees, the New York Giants, and the New York Rangers.

In 1963, Buddy married the love of his life, Frances. Together they shared nearly 63 years of marriage, building a life full of hard work, cherished memories, and the occasional craziness that only their closest friends and family could provide. He was a proud father to Jason Kessler and warmly welcomed his daughter-in-law, Lourdes, into the family. Nothing brought Buddy greater satisfaction than watching his family grow, especially his grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, and Zachary, whose accomplishments and happiness meant the world to him.

Buddy shared a special bond with his sisters, Sandra Chaitin and Elaine Brody. Though distance separated them, he thought about them often and treasured the love they shared as a family. He was preceded in death by his son, Eric; his granddaughter, Erica; and his brother, Stuart Kessler. Their memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Buddy enjoyed the things that made life worthwhile - time with family, sharing a laugh, and the hobbies and interests that brought him happiness. More than anything, he will be remembered as a man who worked hard, cared deeply for those closest to him, and always did what he could to provide for his family.

Buddy’s memory will live on through his family and in the many stories of his crazy antics that will be shared for generations to come. While he will be deeply missed, those stories—and the laughter they bring—will ensure he is never forgotten.
