Alice Elizabeth Matheny, 84, of Lakeland, died Monday, July 19, 2021 at home. Alice was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on July 1,1937 to the late Edwin and Marcella Baker. She was a long time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Lakeland. She was preceded in death by her sister Joann Murphy and brother George Baker. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, James O. Matheny, son James (Denise) Matheny Jr., daughter Debra (Henry) Riggan, daughter Tracy (William) Stawchansky, daughter Alece (Seth) Cox, brother Joseph Baker, granddaughter Rachel (Andrew) Faucher, and three great-grandsons, Kaine, Aiden, and Elijah Faucher. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, July 26, 2021 at 10:30am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church following reception at the family's home starting at 12:00pm.
