Lillian Lucille Glombowski

July 2, 1937 - March 2, 2022

Lillian Lucille Glombowski went home to be with our Lord on March 2, 2022. She was born on July 2, 1937, in Port Huron, Michigan as Lillian Lucille LaVere. She was a devout Christian who loved the Lord. She met her husband to be, Rick Glombowski, in August of 1956 and the two were married June 15, 1957. One year later, they bought a 40-acre farm. The house on the property was 100 years old, had no windows, doors, electricity, or plumbing. They renovated the house together in six months. Over the next several years, they added many new additions to the house including their son, Rich, in October of 1960. When Rich was about 2, Rick and Lillian started Sun Glow Arabians, and for the next several years together they raised, bred, and showed champion Arabian horses, all while Lillian worked full time at the Prestolite parts department and took care of their son. She would come home from working the swing shift and clean the barns. Lillian was very hardworking her whole life; she started her first job at sixteen. Lillian always loved traveling. In 1971, they bought a RV and started traveling the country in the because gas was 20 cents a gallon in those days. They traveled every summer. On their travels they stopped at Sanlan park while visiting Lillian’s best friend in Bartow and liked it so much they never left. They sold the ranch in Michigan in 1977. Eventually they made 12 trips to Alaska together and many more trips to Michigan and Canada. In Alaska, Rick would catch salmon and Lillian enjoyed canning salmon for dinner. Every year, she looked forward to these cross-country trips visiting friends and family all over the Eastern US, and Canada. Lillian was very social, hospitable and always generous towards her friends and family. She loved to host parties and especially enjoyed going all out for the holidays. She made the most amazing sweets. She was very funny and loved to laugh. Lillian learned to play the piano by ear herself and really liked playing and singing gospel hymns. She loved her husband, son, grandchildren, and great grandkids dearly. Lillian is survived by her husband, Rick Glombowski, her son, Rich Glombowski, her daughter in law Sungmi Glombowski, her two grandchildren Rick Glombowski and Renée Stephens, her grandson in law Matthew Stephens, and her three great grandchildren Isaac, Nathan, and Asher.
