Joni French, 67 of Lakeland, Florida passed away June 13, 2020 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Lakeland, Florida. Joni was born in Brazil, Indiana to Betty and Ralph Swearingen on January 25, 1953. She married Lonnie French on April 4, 1985 and he survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Rachel (Robert) Garcia and Aimee (Mike) Carrell, two sons Christian (Kim) French and Matthew French; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Frank Swearingen; one sister Paulette Gaskill; two aunts Lois Casassa and Sue Tipton; one uncle Jimmy Pyle and several nieces and nephews. Her father and mother also preceded her in death. Joni had a huge heart for helping children and she enjoyed volunteering at her grandson’s school, mentoring several foster children, reading, cooking and watching NASCAR.
