Lena my kids were so blessed to have a grandmother like you. You were the only one that could get Jimbo to eat, they swam at the condo, you took Julie everywhere to find her narrow shoes. You were always there for them and I will always be grateful. I know that you are in heaven with Gene the love of your life. We will miss you.

I don't even know where to begin. Going through all of these pictures tonight made everything so real for me and I know physically you are no longer with me but will always be in my heart.... and my actions. Besides looking like you we all know that they call me little Lena for a reason. I was so blessed to have you as my grandmother, you helped to mold me into the person that I am today. From grits and eggs, cheating Grandpa Gene in bingo, and teaching me how to shop and match things perfectly, so much of you will live on in my heart and soul forever. I will cherish every amazing memory you and my grandfather gave to me. My heart is broken but I understand you wanting to go home to be with God and Gene.... we all know he needs you there to pick out his clothes. I am comforted in knowing that now I have you and my grandpa watching over me at all times but I sure will miss our phone calls. I love you more than you could ever imagine!

Grandma you are a wild one to say the least I would be lying if I said you where nice an calm but I lovw your fiery spirt. You where the one who made me learn to tie my shoe and finally learn to ride a bike. We where so blessed to have such great grandparents in are life's I am so sad that my last fighting grandparent is gone I love and miss you
To Lena's family, I'm so sorry for your loss. I have known Gene and Lena for close to 30 years. They both called me there adopted daughter and I loved them both so very much! My heart is truly broken and I will miss them both so much! They are together once more and are watching over us. They both will live in my heart forever! Until we meet again!
